Design SOLUTION: THREE-DIMENSIONAL CROSS – NET WOODEN JOINTS
Author Bosko Milenkovic, designer
Author of display and coordinator: Anja Radaković
Cross joint is made exclusively of solid wood without any other material (metal, plastic) or fastener (screws, bolts, nails, angles) used.
All elements of cross joint are actually laminated wood profiles composed of 7 or 9 elements – laths. This process eliminates – neutralizes physical forces otherwise occurring in wooden mass: twisting, cracking, breaking etc.
Fixing surface of cross joint is six times larger than in any other standard or known system of wood joining.
Cross joint is conceived and fashioned in an environmentally friendly way, as it does not include any other material but wood. Cross joint eliminates the use of glue, thus allowing for easy assembling and dissembling of basic elements.
Cross joint is applicable to any structure designed according to principles and rules of the coordinate system.
Practical application of cross joint is possible in various fields such as: manufacturing of furniture and toys, building structures, partitions, etc.
